Tangles in Time is a series of short documentary films and live performances that intimately explore the lives of people suffering from dementia and the challenges faced by the doctors, nurses, and family members who care for them. Salena Cui, a second year medical student, performs her story of how her unexpected friendship with a much older woman, whose husband was dying of Alzheimer’s, transformed her understanding of dementia and of human connection.
Produced by Packafoma Philms in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University and Theater of Witness, with major support provided by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, the complete series will be projected in conjunction with live performances at the Philadelphia Cathedral on September 13-14, 2019.
