Tangles in Time is a series of short documentary films and live performances that intimately explore the lives of people suffering from dementia and the challenges faced by the doctors, nurses, and family members who care for them. Sunny Lai is a family medicine doctor in residency at Jefferson University. This short clip of Sunny playing the violin is part of a longer segment in which Sunny recounts her family history — beginning with her grandmother’s emigration from China — and describes her earliest experiences as a doctor.
Produced by Packafoma Philms in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University and Theater of Witness, with major support provided by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, the complete series will be projected in conjunction with live performances at the Philadelphia Cathedral on September 13-14, 2019.
